This is another way to bridge the gap between tricycles and the balancing
art needed for real two wheel bicycles.
The Balancing Bike is straddled without pedals so that the rider's feet
are free to engage the terrain when balance is less than perfection.
The propulsion is "push and go" but also known as the "Flintstone" method.
The pneumatic tires are 12.5" with yellow plastic five spoked rims and ball bearings.
A steel frame is protected by bright red powder coating for durability.
The fenders are blue and the seat and trim are yellow with black.
The saddle adjusts in height for ages 2 and up, accommodating inseam measurements
between 13.8" and 17.7".
Aside from color changes, three newly added features improve on the Sprint from the previous version.
A handlebar pad is wrapped on and a hand lever to the right controls
a rear band brake. A convenient kickstand is attached to the left rear wheel
axle bolt.

Kettler makes a lot of different two wheel bikes, one of which is an excellent
training bike that is both well constructed and fully equipped.
The Kettler Bingo 12 bike has a 1-5/16"
steel frame rated for
100 lb. with a super four layer red epoxy powder coat. Complete
with coaster and front caliper brakes, yellow handlebar pad, bell, red and black
seat and yellow handgrips.
The tires are 12½" pneumatic with full blue fenders, fully
enclosed chain and a red metal luggage rack. Removeable training wheels
are bright red with a rubber vinyl tread. For ages 3 to 5.

A nice two-wheel Scooter Lightning with a vivid yellow
powdercoated 1 5/16" tubular steel frame is
made for ages 3 to 6, 75 lb. max.
All of the wear surfaces are either non-slip
patterned plastic or plated so that the finish protection is not worn off.
An earlier version was winner of the "1997 Parent's Choice Award".
The "Lightning" features blue plastic deck and fenders, yellow grips, silver wheel centers and chrome handlebars.
The 9¼" diameter wheels are plastic with a quiet running synthetic vinyl
rubber tire tread.
This little scooter makes it particularly
easy to learn to balance on two wheels with
quick steering, standup body English and unimpeded bailout when all else fails.

You don't have to be a fuzzy red PBS character named "Po"
with an onboard telly to ride the
smallest Kettler Scooter Thunder.
The scooter formerly known as Cub or Skiddy has a new design.
Eight knob adjustable handlebar heights
fit little riders down to only 18 months and up to
about age six and 75 lb. max.
Dual 5" diameter foam-cored tires in the back help train the balance
skills with gentle upright support
and yet retain the ability to lean over for turns.
A bigger 9¼" vinyl rubber over plastic front wheel rides over uneven
pavement better than formerly trendy
skate wheel scooters.
Limited turning radius helps the novice rider avoid ungraceful high side dismounts.
New styling with a big diameter wheel cover reflects trends in lower profile
tire/wheel combinations.
Thunder's slip resistant blue plastic footplate supported by an
asymmetric (1.6" x 1.4") silver powdercoated
steel frame with rear footbrake make for a strong, safe toy.
